Deepwood Gardens

Picture
In 1929, Lord and Schryver began a 10-year collaboration with Alice Brown, designing a series of garden rooms on her five-acre property with its 1894 Queen Anne House located just two blocks east of Gaiety Hollow. This complex, now Deepwood Museum and Gardens, is a City of Salem park and museum, offering public access to one of their residential designs.

The Lord and Schryver Conservancy restores and manages the historic gardens at Deepwood. The most notable of these gardens include the Great Room, Tea House Garden and Scroll Garden.

Free docent-led tours will resume in Spring 2021. Until then, feel free to stroll the gardens on your own.
